Frances Albernaz,
Programme Specialist, at UNESCO’s Division of Cultural Policies and Intercultural Dialogue, has dual nationality (United States of America and Brazil). Trained in Education at University of Toulouse (France) and in Comparative Literatures at University of Michigan, she has worked as a journalist and as a lecturer at Colégio do Brasil. At UNESCO she is responsible inter alia for “Pathways of Thought”, a project launched in 1999 with a view to mobilizing scholars working in the humanities to address contemporary issues and tensions in light of the recent history of cultures and ideas.
